Politics and Sports Don't Mix

Please don't mix my sports with politics! Sports is one of those places we should be able to go without the stress of politics. For this reason, I have stopped watching ESPN after they added Keith Olberman. The only time I will ever watch ESPN is when they broadcast a game that I am interested in. The annoying schtick of Chris Berman has driven me crazy already and now Olberman? They say he won't discuss politics but I already know who he is and I don't believe it.  I can't support him or ESPN. I am sure ESPN is heart broken over my decision but it is what it is and I am done with them. Let's hope that FOX Sports 1 will be a great network.

Regardless of what side of the political aisle you support, we need a place where we can come together and enjoy life without fighting over politics. Sports should be that place and when you interject your political rants, it ruins it for the fan. I understand that players have a right to their political opinion but when they do it, it ruins it for me. An example of this is when Roddy White of my Atlanta Falcons gave his strong commentary against George Zimmerman. Oh, man. Don't do that. You only alienate a big portion of your fan base. I stopped following him on Twitter after that. I will still pull for him because I am a Falcons fan but it keeps me from being a Roddy White fan.

I like my sports to be non-political.
