My Quest for 190!!

I have ALWAYS been over weight. Here is an estimate of my weight over the years that I can remember:

1970: 194
1972: 225 (senior high school)
1975: 235 (wedding)
1981: 265
1986: 290
1999: 333
2000: 253 (after Atkins diet)
2001: 285
Jan 2009: 300

In July, I DECIDED that I had "HAD IT!!" During my visit with the doctor, he told me that the first symptom of a heart attack is a heart attack. Along with this motivation, I had been listening to the great motivator Jim Rohn. He talks about the day that changes your life. It is a day in which you realize that enough is enough. It's the day that I HAD it!!! I had come to that point. In fact, I posted that as my status on Facebook. I began to walk in July and have been walking about 25 miles a week. I am mixing in some jogging and will increase jogging as the weight comes off and I am in better shape. On Thanksgiving morning, I participated in my first 5k. I came in 3rd in my age category. My goal is to run the Peachtree in July. It will be a year since I started my new life.

UPDATE: I have increased jogging to the point that I jogged 2 miles without stopping. I have never done that before. Shin splints has slowed the jogging own now and I am doing more bike riding in the gym. I am still losing weight, though!!
